HANNEKE'S STORY
Hanneke started making Vino pH wines in 2019 on the Paardeberg as a side hustle. Since then, Hanneke and her husband Thinus bought a piece of land on Piket-Bo-Berg mountain called Wolfkloof. This is now home to Vino pH.
Some grapes for Vino pH are sourced from well-regarded Swartland grape growers and some are grown on Wolkloof.
Hanneke’s passion for science and curiosity shines through Vino pH wines. All the wines are fermented naturally with a low intervention approach. Vino pH represents balance in wine, soil, body and nature.
The wine offering is unique and the styles are not the norm but they are refined, one of a kind and accessible.
These wines are bringing people together from the Swartland region and further afield.
Hanneke hopes you too can enjoy these wines whilst connecting over delicious food, interesting conversations all in interesting places.

Balance in the cellar means embracing a minimalist winemaking approach.
Vino pH wines are created at Wolfkloof Farm, a winery Hanneke shares with Fram Wines (made by Thinus Krüger, Hanneke's husband). Hanneke's main goal is to create delicious wines, and she believes the best way to achieve this is through using delicious grapes. Vino pH wines embrace native fermentations and celebrate the unique flavors that a diversity of natural yeasts bring to each wine, ensuring no two vintages are ever the same.
Balance in the vineyard means embracing regenerative farming practices
Time is spent nurturing and composting the vines grown on Wolkloof, to enrich the soil naturally and encourage healthy growing vineyards.
As these vineyards are some of the first to be planted on the Piket-Bo-Berg, focus is placed on exploring the unique terroir expression.
